Hello from Sunny San Diego!

We feel blessed to call California our home and have lived in 3 cities across the sunshine state. La Jolla makes the top of the list and we were truly lucky to call this dazzling city our home for 5 years. It was awesome to come back home from a vacation to a city where people go for a vacation!

We often went out shooting in San Diego trying to capture this city's myriad moods and hues. Here are some of our top suggestions to shoot if you want to truly capture the city...

San Diego Zoo and Safari Park

The San Diego Zoo is located in the beautiful Balboa Park in San Diego and houses more than 3,500 animals of more than 650 species and subspecies.

Tip 1: If you are planning a visit to the zoo or safari park try to get in as early as possible when the animals are active. Some zoo passes allow early entry. These will give you the best chance to get in good shots.

While there is never a dull moment to go shooting at the Zoo, early morning (or as early as the zoo will allow) is definitely the best. You will easily get the least crowds and the most active animals. Remember, capturing the moods of animals is a product of patience so you may have to hang around a bit anyway before you get the shot you want! You don't want the sun to be too harsh when that happens. Here are some of our favorites shots from the Zoo and Safari Park.

Dazzling Downtown

San Diego downtown has never failed to amaze us! Whether its the dazzling fireworks, a chance to capture the super talented artists in Old Town, or catching the gorgeous sunsets, there is never a dull moment! Besides, a trip to San Diego is not complete without exploring the myriad of delectable world cuisines it has to offer. So if you are in town for a day or two, check out our favorite Mediterranean restaurant Aladdin Cafe. Or if you're in the mood for some delicious Mexican food, head over to La Jolla to enjoy authentic Margaritas with mouthwatering Tacos at Puesto.
